Pixie would love her own home.

Pixie just keeps getting overlooked.😢. She came to her foster home in January this year and has very little interest. Although her passport reads she is 3 and a half years old we believe, as does her vet that she is closer to 6 years of age. Her teeth were in very bad condition so sadly she had to have them all removed. But this does not stop her from eating 😊

Update From her foster mum 19/10

Pixie has been with us for just shy of 9 months now. She has become a model dog. She loves going on walks and zooming around off the lead, with excellent recall. She's fully house trained and at night curls up to sleep on the floor next to our bed, where she stays until morning.

She loves her food and having no teeth doesn't stop her! She is really good with other dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and children. She is fine being left home alone with our other dogs but equally loves curling up with the family in the evenings. We have also had the pleasure of her company on our family holidays. She travels well and loves the beach.

She is a pleasure to have and no trouble at all. We have no doubt that she's a lovely companion and whoever adopts her will be very fortunate.

Pixie, also answering to Pickles, Pix and Picklepie, is a constant tail wagger.

As with all the big stars, Pixie has had extensive dental work and in fact is now tooth free! That doesn't stop her eating anything that her toothed foster siblings eat and she certainly loves her food.

Pixie loves people and fuss and enjoys being the centre of attention. She is easy going and calm in the home, but loves to zoom around when off the lead on walks.

Her likes are food, humans, walks and other animals (including chickens and guinea pigs).

Her dislikes are getting wet and being fed after midnight (just joking, it's just getting wet she hates!).

She's a lovely girl who has settled into life in this country and really deserves a forever home.

We came across Pixie on our last visit to Romania. We visited our dogs at a shelter outside of Bucharest. Pixie had been at the shelter for some time. She was not one of our dogs but she looked so scared at the back of her cage we had to take her under our care.

Pixie is now in foster in Leicestershire. Here is what her foster parent has to say about her so far:

Pixie arrived a very shy little girl but has come on in leaps and bounds in her time with us. She currently lives with two other dogs, chickens, guinea pigs and a rabbit. She is perfectly well behaved with all of them.

After fearing the outside world she has now begun to love her walks. Despite her little legs she has managed some very long walks.

She is great with our children and one of her favourite things is to cuddle up with them on the sofa in the evening.

Pixie sleeps through the night and is toilet trained. She also really looks forward to meal times!

Although Pixie lives with other dogs, we believe she would be just as happy as an only dog. She wlll make an ideal companion for someone who wants a little girl to potter around the garden with them, help in the kitchen and go for a nice walk preferably in nice weather.

One cannot imagine the life this little one would have suffered if we had not met her that day. We now want to give her a lifelong commitment with a loving family in a warm and safe home. Can you give that to her?

Freedom Angels Romania cannot consider homes for Pixie that have

  • children under 10 years old

  • Homes without direct access to a secure garden

  • Families with un-neutered dogs

  • applicant is under the age of 24 years

  • Homes where the dog will have to be left alone more than 4 hours on a regular basis

Freedom Angels Romania regret that we can only place dogs and puppies in England, South and West Wales, and the Islands around the South Coast, due to logistical issues.
