Meet Meryl: A Sweetheart Ready for Her Happy Ending
Introducing Meryl…..
From Meryl’s Foster Mum
Meryl is, without a doubt, the most gentle, kind-hearted girl I’ve ever met. She’s completely amazed me with her bravery and resilience since arriving here—especially as she had to leave behind her sister, who she’d lived with her entire life.
When Meryl first came to us, she was understandably nervous. For the first two weeks, she stayed in her crate, cuddled up with her teddies, quietly watching us come and go. We gave her all the time and space she needed to feel safe. Gradually, she began to trust us—first accepting gentle strokes, then taking treats delicately from our hands. It wasn’t long before she started to enjoy affection, even lifting her leg for a belly tickle and giving us little licks to show her appreciation.
Now, Meryl has completely transformed! She no longer needs her crate and has bonded beautifully with her foster dog siblings. She adores cuddles, whether they’re with us or her new best friend, our dog Tyler. She’s even started to play, running around happily with the other dogs.
Meryl is such a polite girl—she eats well but never tries to steal anyone else’s food. Traffic still makes her a little nervous, but she’s being incredibly brave on quiet walks as she builds her confidence. She especially loves off-lead runs and is learning to walk nicely on the lead too. Every time we put her harness on, she patiently sits and waits like the good girl she is!
In the home, Meryl is an absolute dream. She hasn’t shown any reactivity to people or other dogs, she’s not destructive in the slightest, and her favourite pastime is snoozing on the sofa. When I’ve had to leave her for short periods, she’s been as good as gold—I’m pretty sure she just naps the whole time!
Meryl is sweet, funny, and so incredibly loving. She definitely needs another dog in her forever home to play and snuggle with, as she thrives with canine companionship. She truly is the best girl and deserves the absolute best home.
Her Story
Meryl’s start in life was heartbreaking. She and her 9 siblings—9 girls and 1 boy—were cruelly thrown from a vehicle when they were just 8 weeks old. Thankfully, a local guard spotted them and alerted our rescuer, who took them in. Over the past two years, we’ve worked tirelessly to bring them to the UK, one by one. Seven of them are now adopted, and all of them share the same beautiful, gentle temperament.
Now, it’s Meryl’s turn to find her happy ending. Could you be the one to give this amazing girl the loving home she deserves?
