LANA NEEDS A NEW FAMILY

Please take the time to read Lana’s story

This is the story of Lana. She came to the UK as Svetlana. She arrived just before Christmas in 2020 and was quickly adopted. Lana has always been a very nervous dog. Her parents have done everything to ease her anxiety.

This summer Lana’s parents moved back to Australia. They had every intention of sending for her. All her paperwork was submitted and flights booked. In the meantime Lana has been staying with her grandparents.

The move has increased her anxiety and the family became concerned that the flight and quarantine would be too much for her. After speaking to the vet and meeting Lana we have to agree. If her stress levels caused her to nip an official in quarantine she would risk being euthanized. We cannot take that risk.

Lana is now in a foster home and is hoping that 2025 will bring her something more permanent. From her foster mum:-

Lovely Lana is looking for new owners who can provide her with care, comfort and company. When Lana feels safe, she really comes out of her shell and shows her playful side. She loves to play with squeaky toys and will happily play with you or entertain herself. If you engage her with little games, she’ll be well on her way to making friends. Lana loves the idea of a walk but once out there can get a little intimidated by everything that’s going on. She’d prefer a home where her new people will take it slowly with her and not expect too much too soon. Lana is brave and faces up to the things she finds challenging and with the right support system she will be able to face her fears. Lana isn’t an extrovert and doesn’t feel a drive to be social with other dogs. She would prefer to be the only pet in the home, so no cats either please. Lana really loves company but is also able to be left for short periods so a home with someone around most of the time would be ideal. Lana is a charming character who’s looking for snuggle companions who can give her all the support she needs to help reduce her little anxieties. She’s at her happiest having a brush and a cuddle with the people she feels safe with.
