🐾 Lilah’s Second Chance: From a Kill Shelter to a Loving Home 🐾
Lovely Lilah 💛
Lilah’s journey began in the most unexpected way — not even as the focus of the video that changed her life. A heartbreaking clip of another dog in a kill shelter caught someone’s attention… but there, in the background, was Lilah. Just six months old, abandoned and running out of time. We couldn’t leave her — or her kennel mate — behind. So we brought them both into safety.
Now Lilah is thriving in her foster home in Dorset, where she arrived on 10th March. She’s settled in beautifully and is really starting to show her true, happy nature.
💛 From her foster mum:
✨ “Lilah is a confident, happy girl who loves life.”
✨ “She gets on brilliantly with our dog — and even the cats!”
✨ “She’s playful, affectionate and just wants to be loved.”
When she first arrived, Lilah was shy and nervous. She spent a lot of time tucked away in the security of her open crate, just watching the world from a safe spot. But since then, she’s made amazing progress — and now chooses to lie down in different cosy places around the house, right at the heart of family life.
She’s come on leaps and bounds with toilet training too. Although she wasn’t house trained at all when she arrived, she’s learnt quickly. As long as she’s let out regularly, accidents are now rare — and always right by the back door.
She gets on brilliantly with her foster dog siblings and absolutely loves playing with them. She’s also completely unbothered by the resident cat.
Lilah adores affection and is more than happy to soak up as many cuddles as you’ve got to give. She’d let you stroke her for hours if you had the time!
She’s a dream on the lead — no pulling, no fuss — and is calm when meeting other dogs and people. Off lead, she loves nothing more than running and playing, always checking in to make sure you’re still close by. Her recall is improving well — though she’ll sometimes come back once she’s decided she’s ready!
Lilah is expected to be medium-sized when fully grown. She’s looking for an active, loving forever home where her new pawrents will continue her training and give her the life she truly deserves.
Her foster family have fallen in love with her — and we know you will too. But Lilah still needs her forever people. And only the best will do. 💛
