ADOPTION PENDING
Pip… with her sweet and playful spirit, is searching for a loving home where she can finally feel safe
Update from her Foster Family 19/10
Pip is small in size but large in character and an absolute joy to have around the house.
Out of the many dogs we’ve had, Pip is the first one not to malt so that is a joy in itself!
Pip absolutely loves human attention. She has lived with our three other dogs absolutely fine, but the I believe she would be happier as a solo dog or just with one other. She can be jealous and she can certainly hold her own! She has also met cats whilst out walking and not reacted at all although I don’t know what she’d be like if she lived with one. She will almost certainly chase a squirrel, evidenced from her reaction in our garden!
After getting to know each other, we now take her out for walks every day which she absolutely adores. We haven’t been anywhere secure enough to take her off the lead but I believe that once she knows her human she will walk off the lead very nicely. She has certainly learnt her name whilst with us , and I think is as trainable as a Chihuahua mix can be!
Pip sleeps right through the night with no issues. I think she would sleep anywhere but she definitely prefers to sleep near us, which we allow.
She would suit both an active young person or a less active older person. She really is very easy. She is a very lovely little dog ego we’d miss. We haven’t weighed her, but I would guess she weighs around 7 or 8 kg.
========================================================
Pip is just the most wonderful dog despite her turbulent start to life and initial introduction to the UK. She is playful but nervous of noise. She loves to curl up in her oversized bed and by your feet! She likes a walk and is super on a lead, really loves the freedom of being off and runs as fast as a whippet! Her recall needs continuous work though, so secure/remote fields are ideal to give the freedom she loves occasionally.
She plays well with our resident dog but can get overwhelmed as Maggie is big, but she loves to play and will often fight your feet or play with one of her toys.
She does little excited dances and hops when it’s time for food but enjoys eating in peace!
Pip would be a fantastic companion for someone with a fairly quiet house and would be great with another dog but not too big! She’s nervous of new people but warms to them and will happily go for a sniff and a fuss once settled.
Help us find Pip her forever home to allow her beautiful personality to shine through and where she will be loved and looked after.
