This summer, two of our volunteers went to Turkey and fell in love with a handsome street dog named Obie.

They couldn’t leave him there so after 3 months he made his way to the UK and into his foster home in Cornwall. This is what his foster mum has to say about our amazing Obie.

What can I say about this fabulous boy?! Obie is two years old and the most amazing bundle of joy. He is an absolute dream in the home, loves all people, he’s house trained, sleeps really well and takes his treats gently.

This boy will sit for his meals and has absolutely no food aggression. Obie is definitely a snuggle bug so if you’re looking for endless cuddles then he is the boy for you (I think he thinks he’s a lap dog!)

Having lived as a street dog for nearly two years, Obie is very wary of other dogs and this is understandable but with gentle introductions he loves to make new friends. He happily lives with my old labrador and they love each other. Obie has also made friends with another FAR rescue who he loves to play with and bomb around the field with (on a long line). We are working hard with dog introductions and he’s making good progress with a nice little collection of dog friends to play with.

Obie would like a calm resident dog to live with, he can be left for 2-3 hours with my dog.

He would like to have a family who is home most of the day and who can give him the time to build his confidence out walking and meeting other dogs. He’ll happily have his harness on with no fuss.

Due to his age and size, children would have to be over 10 years and he needs a very secure garden.

I absolutely love this boy and would love someone to love him as much as we do.

Obie comes with full rescue back up. Adoption donation and home check apply.

Please note, we are unable to consider for adoption for Obie:

  • People under 25 years old

  • People with children under 10 years old

  • Homes without a secure garden

  • Families with un-neutered dogs

  • Homes where the dog will have to be left alone more than 4 hours.

Freedom Angels Romania regret that we can only place dogs and puppies in England, South and West Wales, and the Islands around the South Coast, due to logistical issues.
