Julia Roberts has just arrived at her foster home in Manchester.
Here is what her foster dad has to say about her so far!
When she arrived, she was obviously very stressed and scared, and we could not get near her.
On day two, we did get her taking food from our hand and day three Jane managed to get a collar on her! On the Saturday, we all took her for her first walk and she was good on an extendable lead and was playful with Rupert, our other dog, and we managed to get her bathed when we got home and she was very good.
She has had very few toilet accidents in the house, she goes on a puppy pad with no training, has not messed in the house when left over night downstairs and is going to the bottom of the garden to do her business 😊
She has gained confidence so much and has really come out of her shell. She is now off lead when we go for walks, her recall is good and she has walked passed cows on a couple of occasions and was not really phased by them.
She can resource guard her food a little when around other dogs so we feed her separately. Our Romanian dogs to have a tendency to be greedy as they have spent so much time with so little!
She has not shown any interest or negative reaction to children when they have walked passed us.
So in a nutshell, 99% clean in the house, good on a lead, does cry a bit when you go to bed but that soon stops. She will be a wonderful, loving little dog in the right home. She is a loving, gentle little dog who is a dream really.
